Care staff are frequently expected to be able to act with adults in an emergency: nursing-school auxiliary/care-aide training embeds first aid, and the NGO and home-care segment accepts a standalone recognized CPR/first-aid certificate. The exact requirement is set by the employer and the care setting rather than by a single national law.
A recognized, up-to-date first-aid certificate is the way to meet this expectation; it is in addition to the worker's occupational training and should be renewed periodically.
